Week-long Programs for Kids and Teens
Music and Drama: Ages 5-12. Our “Signature Camp” for the past 16 years! Small group settings = individual attention, filled with tons of encouragement, and all in a non-competitive environment. Students will learn a musical play that they perform on the last day of camp. We will sing, move, act, and create our own playbills, costumes, props, simple sets, and more. We also build our own instruments, do fun artsy crafts, and even get outside for some fun under the sprinkler, toss some balls if they wish, or relax a few minutes at lunch or snack time under the 200 year old Maple tree in the backyard.
NEW! Gardening & Music: Ages 5-12. We are working with MASC (Manchester Area Sustainability Cooperative) to create community gardens in our backyard for the second year! This year, we will team up with them for a camp designed to teach children the basics of organic gardening and harvesting. We will work in the garden, do garden-related activities, talk about nutrition, teach children how to label-read grocery items, and “harvest” available produce for our snacks! In the afternoon, we will work on a nature-related musical, to be performed at the end of the week!
Piano: All ages. Young Pianists will learn the basics of playing the piano and keyboard in a fun, energizing, motivating way. Students will basically complete a full semester of lessons in only one week! Students may move on to private piano lessons when they’ve completed camp.
Music for Little Mozarts: If your 4-6 year old child loves to have fun, sing, move to music, play small musical instruments, and wants to see if piano is in their future, this is definitely the program for you! It follows a storybook tale of Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear, as they learn music from the children in their home. We are at the piano, up and moving to music, making small crafts, and playing musical games!
Singing: Ages 8-14. Does your child love to sing? Then, this is the perfect way to spend a week! We will explore different styles of music, do a radio show live, and singing solo and in ensemble. Low-key, fun and definitely educational. A great way to find out if your child would like private singing lessons, too!
Excellent Etiquette: Ages 5-12. Paula Penna’s Excellent Etiquette is a fun-based, modern class about social skills, manners, and protocol. This is not your grandmothers’ etiquette class! We play games, do projects, work individually and as a team. We work outside and inside, depending on the desires of our campers and weather. Through the week we will explore table manners, meeting and greeting, being a host/hostess, telephone etiquette, party etiquette, writing/making thank you notes, safety issues, and anti-bullying lessons.
